Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form and entry rules in brief:
- Before you fly, check your passport, return ticket and accommodation booking. Passport control may ask to see them.
- Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality. The Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office keeps the list of countries.
- Since June 2026, the All-in-One form and the health declaration are completed before boarding. The form is free and produces a PDF with a QR code.
- Sites that charge a fee to “process” the form are not government sites.
- An electronic travel authorisation (ETA) has been announced but is not in force as of October 2026.
Your flight is a week away and your case is nearly packed. Then you hear about a form. Entering Mauritius as a tourist is simple. You need a passport, a return ticket, an accommodation booking and two online forms. One of them is the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form.
Mauritius entry requirements: which documents you need
The Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office sets out the general rules for tourists. Bring a passport valid for your whole stay, a return ticket and a booking. You also need the online form and the health declaration, covered below.
| Document | What to check before you fly |
|---|---|
| Passport | Valid for your whole stay, with a blank page for the stamp |
| Return or onward ticket | The departure date falls within your permitted stay |
| Hotel booking or address | Name and address to hand: you enter them in the form too |
| All-in-One form | PDF with a QR code, on your phone or printed |
| Health Declaration Form | Mandatory with the form since June 2026, completed before boarding |
Keep everything in one folder, paper or digital. It saves time at the passport desk.
Do you need a visa for Mauritius?
Citizens of many countries do not need a visa in advance. Permission to stay is stamped into the passport on arrival. How long you may stay depends on your nationality, and the stamp shows that period.
The Passport and Immigration Office publishes the full list of countries and periods at passport.govmu.org. You can also check the passport and visa page on the Air Mauritius website. Rules change, so look them up a couple of weeks before you travel.
For longer stays there is the Premium Visa. It is issued for one year, can be renewed, and you apply online. Our guide to entry and visa requirements for French citizens in Mauritius has more on it.
Where to fill in the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form
You fill in the form online on the government portal safemauritius.govmu.org. Its full name is the Mauritius All-in-One Travel (Digital) Form. It is free. At the end, the portal gives you a PDF with a QR code. Save it on your phone and print a copy just in case.
Since June 2026, the form is required at boarding. The Health Declaration Form is now mandatory alongside it. Complete both before you fly. The airport operator says a visitor without the form gets a paper Immigration Disembarkation Card. Do not count on it: your airline may check the form at the gate.
Be careful with search results. Searching for the form brings up middleman sites that charge a “processing” fee. The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority says it does not endorse paid middleman services. Some of these sites also collect passport details. Only open an address that ends in govmu.org. The airport website links to the same portal.
ETA for Mauritius: where things stand in October 2026
No electronic travel authorisation (ETA) is in force yet, so you do not need one. The scheme was announced in the 2026–27 budget. No launch date or application process has been named yet.
If a website already offers to “arrange your Mauritius ETA”, treat it with suspicion. The government has not opened that service yet.
Passport control and customs at SSR Airport
After landing at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport, there is one route: passport control, baggage reclaim, customs. At passport control, an officer checks your passport. Keep the form to hand, as a QR code on your phone or a printout. You show it on arrival. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Permission to stay is stamped into your passport.
Customs comes next. The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) asks you to declare:
- fresh fruit and vegetables;
- plants, cuttings, seeds and spices;
- items made from raw animal parts (skins, feathers, bones);
- medicines.
Eating an apple from home on the plane beats explaining it at customs. Carry medicines in their original packaging with a doctor’s prescription, up to three months’ supply. Controlled medicines need a permit from the government pharmacist. The full list and import limits are on the Import Restrictions page at mra.mu.
From the arrivals hall to your taxi
Past customs lies the arrivals hall. Book a DodoGo taxi in the app. Drop a pin at a convenient spot by the airport, and the taxi comes to it. You can also pre-book a DodoGo ride for a set time. Our guide to the best airport taxi in Mauritius covers taxi classes and approximate journey times.
