Upon arrival at Mauritius airport, you will be met by various taxi companies ready to meet your transportation needs. However, we recommend that you do not use unofficial taxi companies or taxis from the street. They are unsafe, and the cost and rates are not controlled.
For a more personalized approach, you can use taxi rental services from official websites, which are often booked in advance so that the driver will be waiting for you upon arrival. Taxi apps have also become popular in recent years, giving travelers another convenient and often more affordable option. Regardless of the service you choose, planning your Mauritius airport transfer will help you better manage your travel budget.

Taxi cost from the airport
The cost of a taxi in Mauritius depends on several factors. The main one is the distance from the airport to your destination – the further away, the higher the cost. The time of day also plays a role: trips late at night or early in the morning may cost more due to increased demand or additional charges. The type of service you choose – official taxi, private hire or ride-sharing app – also affects the price. Some services offer fixed rates, while others calculate the cost based on mileage and time. Understanding these factors will help you better plan your airport transfer costs.
